This Build Guide is an outline for my main kit in Dune: Awakening so its important to note a couple things. All of the weapons are displayed as the Tier 6 versions however all weapons and gear shown can be obtained from Steel Tier 3 and takes around 7-10 Hours to reach. The only exception is the Ornithopter which is unlocked at Tier 4. It's also worth mentioning all melee weapons are viable on any build and its mainly personal preference.
The Karpov is excellent for ranged gunplay with decent damage, precision and is a decent all rounder that can tackle most situations. The Disruptor has less uses but Has a very important use case none the less, it's primary use is to melt shields due to the high RPM. The Scattergun is in my opinion the predecessor until you get Drillshot, it is akin to a Shotgun that is great for mid-game and also has a great use case on shielded enemies by appyling a stagger when shot allowing slow-blade melee oppertunities. The Karpov, Disruptor & Scattergun can all be obtained by Iron Tier 2.
This set of weapons are my key build weapons that define my playstyle more specifically the Spitdart which acts like a sniper, it cannot penetrate shields but has a Poisoning
effect which can deal damage to shielded enemies, stacking this with poison buffs on the Mentat tree the Spitdart sticks out as a fantastic option for sniping. Next is the Drillshot, this
is one of the best weapons in Dune: Awakening because not only can it penetrate shields over a 1-1.5s duration it can also stagger while dealing a significant portion of damage and offering
great rangee aswell. For both PVE & PVP this is going to be your best friend for ranged engagements and even just engagements overall.
Finally the Rapier which is my favorite melee weapon
in the game however it is personal preference depending on melee playstyle, any melee weapon can work with any build and until you get the Rapier the sword is a great option.
The Spitdart, Drillshot & Rapier are unlocked at Steel Tier 3.
Power Packs, Shields & Suspensors Belts are the most important utility in the game and should be prioritized each tier you progress. at the start of the game until T4 you will have to decide between passive leap belt or passive suspensor belt, one prevents fall damage entirely and the other allows you to gain air which I reccomend early game for the active passives I use on my build which I will refer to later. At Tier 4 however you can research a Belt that combines both effects which is really nice.
The last two essential pieces of kit is your Ornithopter & Literjon.
You will unlock you your first Scout Ornithopter in Aluminum Tier 4 and once you reach
Tier 5 you will want to switch to the Assualt Ornithopter and attach a rocket module for
vehicle combat in the Deep Desert.
Last but not least is the Literjon which will
be very helpful for Heavy Armor in PVP. The specific Literjon
you will want throughout the whole game is the Hajra Literjon Mk1 which is obtained
at the first Outpost Vendor you visit.
This is largely considered the best Literjon in the game
because it is the same weight as the standard Mk1 Literjon but carries an extra 500ml.
The only other Literjon in the game is obtained at Mk5 and can carry 10,000ml but weights
a massive 25V compared toe the Hajaras 2V.
For Armor I highly reccomend heavy especially for a more ranged/long distance focused playstyle like me where melee generally wont be as much of a problem as ranged is. Heavy armor has the best Dart Damage Mitigation while losing some Melee Damage Mitigation. Following the tier progression structure of the game you can get heavy armor from Tier 2 on and upgrade it to a new Tier each time you progress.
My kit uses a mix of all trees abilities in the game starting off with Bene Gesserit for Bindu Sprint since we can close massive gaps
with it early on especially when we don't have a bike yet we can speedrun getting the trooper trainer very fast. My second unlock is the Shigawire which is
potentially one of the best movement and utility abilities in the game not only useful for navigation but also staggering enemies.
Last up is the Knee Charge
from the Swordmaster which is unlocked much later in the game around the 10 hour mark or more, less if you are fast. The Knee Charge is fantastic for staggering enemies and
gap closing while also usable as a backup movement ability. As you can probably tell my build is very movement focused for engaging, escaping and manipulating fights both PVE & PVP.
If you are curious on where to find any Trainer head here.
The last thing of importance in my kit is how I spend my Skill Points on each tree, we outlined the 3 key abilities above but now for all the passives, spice passives & techniques I use - also want
to mention in Dune Awakening you can get a total of 200 Skill Points to spend which requires Max Level 200. Overall I use a lot of passives
mixed from all the classes that focus on self-sustain, melee and ranged damage with some poison buffs for my Spitdart.
For my 3 equipped techniques represented with the Blue Dots I buff my ranged damage while
using suspensor belts, health and stamina self-sustain on the swordmaster tree and my last technique is bonus headshot damage on the mentat tree. All of the red dots
represent skills or passives I had to pick-up on the tree to get to passives I wanted, they are not used.
Yellow dots represent all of the passives I use and green the 3 abilities I have in my rotation as outlined in the previous section. This pretty much concludes my entire combat kit the main thing that
will change frequently is the uniques I have equipped, as you may have noticed I have not displayed any. That is because I currently do not know which of the Endgame T6 Uniques are going to fit my
build the best, they are also inredibly rare and until then baseline house T5 & T6 gear is more than enough to compete in PVP & PVE.
Quick mention that I want to add in here is I do not reccomend bothering with any T1-T4 Uniques at all other than the Hajara Literjon as they become obsolete very quickly especially when stacked up
against T6 Baseline Common Gear.
